Product Description
The US series of stress shock-absorbing spikes is an original device type, with clear principle, exquisite structure, in-place craftsmanship, precise effect, and the performance and effect are sufficient to compare with any sky-high price spikes. The US series is a spike/rack product that can adjust the tone by itself.
** Fastening **
There are tolerances and fit tolerances for screws, bolts/threads. The screw of the foot screw is screwed into the machine, and the bolt head or nut needs to be locked before the bolt can be tightened; if it is not locked, the screw and foot nail can be shaken.
** Smooth **
The flatness of the bottom of the machine part and the supporting surface (desktop/table/ground, etc., the same below) is also subject to tolerances and fit tolerances. In order to level the parts, it is necessary to adjust a few screws in most of the time. At this time, the bolt heads or nuts are not in the locked state. After most of the rigid feet are leveled, the screws and feet can be shaken-even if the parts are leveled. The pressure is also loose, and it is a sound killer. A more trouble-free way is to use soft nails (including hard nails + soft pads), and use the elasticity of plastic or spring to ensure that the nails are in smooth contact with the supporting surface-the soft nails are placed on the pillow under the machine ( Experiment 2) Same, in most cases, it is harmful to the sound. This is just a simple way to ensure that the machine can be placed stably. Therefore, many enthusiasts change the sound by replacing the foot spikes.
** Vibration isolation **
The machine parts vibrate, and the supporting surface also vibrates. The vibration transmission of the machine parts and the supporting surface is proportional to the contact area between them. To isolate vibrations, the smaller the footprint of the spikes, the better.
** Vibration offset **
The vibration of the machine parts and the supporting surface can be partially offset by the foot nails. From this perspective, the existing rigid foot nails on the market generally have no effect; the offset effect of the plastic type in the soft foot nail is relatively clear, and the spring and magnetic force repel each other. Because of the “uncontrolled force direction”, it will move randomly (soft spikes have the shortcomings of Experiment 2), which can be distinguished by the naked eye…the sound of the moving machinery and speakers
** Model selection **
Model definition of US series nails: the first digit is the metric diameter, the last two digits are the metric length (not including the nail pad), the unit is mm: US425=US nails, diameter 4mm (M4), length 25mm.
US425 is suitable for all kinds of small and medium-sized cases (the original machine feet are generally 4mm standard threads), can directly replace the M4 screws or nails of the original machine feet, and can also be used for M4~M5 through holes, a set of 4 pieces with a maximum load of 50kg .
US635 is suitable for large chassis, small and medium speakers, tripods, racks (the original machine feet are generally 6mm standard threads), can directly replace the M6 screws or nails of the original machine feet, and can also be used for M6~M7 through holes. A set of 4 pieces has a maximum load of 150kg.
US835 is suitable for heavy-duty cases, speakers, tripods, and racks (the original machine feet are generally 8mm standard threads). It can directly replace the M8 screws or nails of the original machine feet, and can also be used for M8~M9 through holes. 4 The maximum load-bearing capacity of a group is 300kg.
** Installation & Use **
The locking screws of the US stress pins should be tightened to the bottom of the machine, and the stress shrapnel and auxiliary screws should be tightened afterwards; the same set of pins should be installed and adjusted by the same person with bare hands to ensure the consistency of the stress. It is not recommended to use a wrench. Tightening the screws with bare hands can effectively maintain the freshness of the sound. The stress shrapnel and auxiliary screws can ensure the non-sliding position of the locking screws, achieving tightness and stability, even for large speakers/trips and heavy racks.
By properly adjusting the tightness of the auxiliary nut of the US stress spike (the one located below), you can fine-tune the tone. Even if the auxiliary nut is not very tight, the vibration of the machine will “automatically” adjust the position of the stress shrapnel, washer and each nut, reaching the best position after one to two weeks and maintaining it for a long time.
